Mayo / Re: LYNOTT

I have a Thomas Lynott in my tree:  Ellen Golden married Thomas Lynott in the Killala area.  Thomas Lynott died in 1970, his wife in 1966.  Their son Patrick b. 1920, married Mary Rooney in 1960.  They had a son Padraic.

These notes are from my late aunt and it's hard following her indents to determine generations.  However, other Lynott names appear to be: Mary Kate (m. Farrell); Ellen who died at 5 in 1921; Brigid Agnes who died at 1 in 1919; and a John Thomas.

Because this may not be totally accurate, I suggest looking closely at the 1901 and 1911 censuses, particularly in the comments section where they note others living in the household with a different last name.  You can infer connections.

My father, James J. Golden, born in NYC, was the son of James Francis Golden and Annie Golden Golden.  They are both in the 1901 and 1911 census.  Having two Golden lines suggests that my father has genes from both lines.  His DNA is available on FamilyTree DNA; he's a Niall of the Nine Hostages type.  Interestingly, given all the Pennsylvania references, my grandfather first arrived in the US in 1912 and stayed with a Mrs. McLaughlin in the Scranton area.  She surely was a relative.

My grandfather's parents were Patrick Golden and Bridget Flannelly and my grandmother's parents were Andrew Golden and Kate Kearney.  Going farther back:  Armstrong, Forde, Kelly.  Other relatives include:  Robinson, Earley, McHale, Lynott.

My husband and I just returned from a 2-week trip to Ireland and found both the old and new cemeteries in Killala.
