I have just received a death certificate for Elizabeth Colwill (49) died 15 May 1841 wife of John Colwill. She died at Heddon St Bideford. Is this the mother of Charles? The only Eliza Lemon I can find so far is the daughter of William and Elizabeth baptised 25 June 1809 at Northam. If her father is John as recorded on her death certificate there is one married to Mary. He was born in Holsworthy and she was born in Northam. However as Eliza does not seem to have any chldren with Mary in their name that I have seen I am not too sure if that is correct. Woolara

The Tavistock option is interesting. Maybe John and Elizabeth moved down there when Charles left for Australia. Woolara

I have no idea if they relate to Elizabeth Hawkins though.

Hi
Eliza Lemon was my ggg grandmother and she married Charles Colwell who was my ggg grandfather. It seems highly likely that her parents were William and Elizabeth. Thanks Woolara

Know nothing about John Colwill other than marriage date and he came from Bradworthy. Don't know of any immigration either. Assume they remained in England. A John Colwill convicted of Sheep stealing died on the voyage out in 1826 and there are a couple of other Colwills came out as convicts as well some years later. Woolara
