Australia / Re: Bourke (NSW) Cemetery Look-up?

Have you tried this website austcemindex.com.  A fantastic resource, the owners of the site have gone to alot of Australian cemeteries, new and old and gather information on who is buried there.  Some of the time there is a photograph of the headstone.

Yes, nothing came up. I found her death certificate and it looks like she never married, and was living in Stirling near her younger sister and brother-in-law when she died.  From what I can tell her twin brother and younger sister both had offspring, so it would be their branches of the family I'm looking to connect with. Thanks though.

Hello

I am looking to connect with descendants of

James Edward Marshall b1848 (England) d 14/11/1927 at 163 Forest Ave, St Machar, Aberdeen and his wife

Catherine Isobel Fraser Kelman b 07/08/1839 d 25/12/1930 at 163 Forest Ave, St Machar Aberdeen

and their children

Robert Christian William Marshall 1879-1928
Catherine Kelman Marshall 1880-1941 her twin brother
James Edward Marshall b1881
Edith Annie Skene Marshall 1883 - 1951 m William Alexander Wyllie 1908 in Aberdeen

I believe that Catherine Kelman Marshall is the birth mother of my Grandfather James Marshall Mowat.  He was born 21 April 1909 at 34 Bedford St, St Nicholas, Aberdeen.  Catherine Marshall is listed as his mother, there is no father named.  "Illegitimate" is written under his name.  Catherines address is listed as 63 Devonshire Rd, her occupation a Draper's Saleswoman.  The 1911 census has all of the above people (bar Edith who had married by then) living at 65 Devonshire Rd.  My grandfather, Jim, was living with James and Frances Mowat in 1911 and is listed as "James Mowat Marshall adopted son".  At some stage he took the Mowat surname and Marshall became his middle name. Jim died in 1990 in Wellington, New Zealand.

It has only been a couple of weeks since I have figured out that Catherine may be Jim's mother.  Her identity has always been a bit of a mystery in the family, and it would be amazing to connect with some of her descendant to i) confirm that I have the right person and ii) perhaps see a photograph of her.  It would also be great to share the story of Jim's life and the success of his (and Catherines) descendants. I realised that this may be a sensitive issue, as my post could be a complete surprise, so no offense is intended.

I see that Rootschat is usually about looking up the generations not down them, but I am at dead end, so any help would be appreciated.
