Leicestershire Lookup Requests / Agnes Catesby
« on: Thursday 30 August 12 18:37 BST (UK)  »
One of my Cave ancestors was Christopher of Stanford & Walcot d. 16 September 1591.

I have a copy and transcript of a non cupative will which names his wife as Agnes. In work apparently done a few years ago by students at Leicester University she was identified as Agnes Catesby bur 27 May 1596 Yelvertoft.

Christophers brother Bartholomew of Welford living latest 1573 is listed probably by the same source as being married to a Dorothy Catesby of Weekley (sisters?).

I can't find any evidence supporting any of this but for obvious reasons the Catesby name intrigues me (Gunpowder plot and earlier Richard III etc). Anyone come across Catesby in this context.

Many thanks

Neil

Leicestershire / Re: Parish Records Misterton Leicestershire

Hi Neil

There are 137 entries of the name Cave in the register. The earliest entry in the register is the baptism of Jarvis son of Richard Cave 10 January 1558 and the latest is the burial of Rachel Cave 14 January 1888 age 69.  The register starts 1558 and last entries are 1955.  Within those two dates the name Cave comes up fairly consistently on nearly every page.  I couldn't see any particular pattern.

Sarenid

Thanks Sarenid

Through a pretty stupid geographical error I have found myself the proud possessor of a PDF with the parish records of Misterton Leicestershire from 1558-1910.  I am happy to do lookups for any with relies in this village so that my expensive mistake can be put to some use.
Regards

Hi Sarenid
Could you do me a favour please? "Cave" for Misterton & Walcot. Sorry you got the wrong Misterton so it's really nice you are helping others.
regards and thanks
Neil
