Thank you for your reply. Yes, I have the burial record from Scotlands People and had already found her in the 1841 Census but I was hoping to find another record of her age as the 1841 Census rounds the ages down (her age is really important in determining the likelihood of giving birth in 1835). I am also wondering how to find out if there is a grave stone and whether it mentions burials of other members of the Scobbie/Scobie family.

Hi, I have a burial record for Fanney Cowans , spouse of James Scobbie, who was buried in Auchterarder burial ground on 28th August 1847 in "the southern most of his 2 graves bounded on the south by ?? Lennox stone."
I am wondering how I can find out if Fanney had/has a grave stone? Her husband and son were stone masons so I thought perhaps she might have had one. I am trying to find out how old she was when she died and as I can't find an actual parish death record for her (which might have stated her age) I am really hoping her grave stone might tell me.
Any help or suggestions would be most welcome

Thanks for that Sinnan- it's tantalizing to know that the original records are there somewhere. I got this transcript from someone else who says "I've gone back to my old paper files of the 1990s, and have a print-out from the Sligo record office of this marriage.Husband: George Williams ID 839369

Hi, I have seen a transcript of a marriage between George Williams & Margaret Vernon 12 May 1806 at St Johns Church, Sligo town. Witness was G. Gilvarry. The fathers' names are only given as 'Vernon' and 'Williams' with no first names as apparently they are hard to read. I am thus trying to find a digitised copy of the original document to see if I can make out any letters in the names which might help me. I would so much appreciate any information as to how I might be able to access the original record. I have emailed the Sligo FHS but have had no reply. (I live in Australia). Many thanks

Thanks, phenolphthalein - I have searched The Weald but can't really find what I am looking for. I am trying to find a birth record of a Henry Durrant/Durant who was born about 1823 in Sussex. He came to Australia in 1842 as a Bounty Immigrant and on the shipping list gave his parents name as "Frank & Eliza' and his 'native place' as East Hoathly. He later had quite a few children and 3 of the sons were called Moses, Amos and Trayton. These names seem to occur quite a lot in Sussex.
