Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Re: Old Easton

The one I was looking at was of the Wray family.  This was a large family photo and the one I am trying to send now is a much smaller picture.  I don't understand why it is so many KB?

Hello
A couple of months back I sent a picture for enhancement and got some really good responses.  This picture was 1.25 MB.  I am trying to send one today which is 960 KB and I keep getting told it is too big.  How did I send the other one, I can't remember, but would really like someone to take a look at the 960KB one if possible?

thanks
Amanda

Hello
I am trying to save a record on Ancestry.  tTe only option is to save it as a PNG image.  This comes out as a completely black box when saved and although I have opened it with Paint to try to convert it to a JPEG, it only shows as a solid black box.  Help Please?

Family History Beginners Board / Albion Hill Home, Brighton
« on: Monday 18 August 14 13:54 BST (UK)  »
I have just found a relative on the 1901 census who is listed as a "penitent" at the Albion Hill Home, Finsbury road, Brighton.  She is 13 years old and listed as a "housemaid - domestic" under occupation.  I know that her mother had died in 1898, but her  father was still alive and living with one of her sisters.  Any idea why she would be there or what she may have done?

Thanks - I've just found a relative with WW1 records who joined up in 1889.  Are they just putting any army service down as WW1?
