Many thanks to you all for your responses.

I have been able to piece together most to the information here but as of yet I have been unable to make a present day connection.

I have come to have a number of old photos from the late 1800s early 1900s which originate in Canada and a number of them relate to this family.

The obituary of Helen Marjorie does throw up a new lead in the nephew , D Jones. This presumably is Robert Jones's son. We were unsure if this gentleman had married but this appear to suggest that he did.

This Robert I have been unable to trace beyond 1937 when he is mentioned as the informant for his uncles death. He may have lived at that time in Queenstown Ontario.

Thanks again for all the help.

Thank you all so very much for taking the time and effort to work on my photo.

You'll have made an old man very happy come Christmas once he sees the results. Up to two months ago he did not have a photo of his mum and dads wedding. Now he's a choice.

Thanks again

Hi,

I haven't been on here for a long time, put constantly marvel at the work you carry out here on old photos.

The attached is a wedding photo from Dublin in 1924 and I'd appreciate a general tidy up of the picture.

Many thanks

Canada Lookup Request / Re: Henry Joseph JONES, Sudbury, Nipissing, Ontario after 1911

PB,

Thanks for that.

Yes Ireland is likely. His father left Ireland in 1840's for Canada and returned some time in the 1860's. If born Ireland, I suspect the record states Wexford. It may also state Ballybrennan as this was the townsland in Wexford they settled in back in Ireland.

Any idea where I'd go searching for death records. There does not appear to be anything on familysearch.org.

Regards

Glen

Canada Lookup Request / Henry Joseph JONES, Sudbury, Nipissing, Ontario after 1911
« on: Tuesday 26 February 13 09:57 GMT (UK)  »
Hi all,

I am looking for assistance in finding further records for the above gentleman.

Henry was born in 1861 (I'm not sure if in Canada or Ireland) His father was Robert Henry Jones and his mother was Sarah Cook(e).

He was married in October 1899 in Kingston Frontenac Ontario to Citney Patterson. In  marraige record Henry's occupation is listed as butcher.

From the 1911 census, they are listed in Sudbury Nipissing with 3 chrildren, Marjorie(B1900), Evelyn (B1906) and Robert (B1908). Also listed in the house at that time was a brother of Henry's, Charles Edward (B1865).

I have a death record for Charles at Nigara Falls, Ontario in 1937.

I am looking for detials of what happened to Henry and family after 1911. From anectodal family stories there may be links to Hatton & McKibbon families. There is also some sketchy stories of a church minister who may have gone by the name "Happy". Toronto is also listed as a possible destination for the family. I'm not sure if that is the whole family or just the children.

Thank you for reading and any assistance.

Regards

Glen

Hi

I'm looking for obituary for the above gentleman who passed away in 1964 in possibly Lindenow, close to Bairnsdale, victora. His father was John Frances White and mother Sarah Ellen Jones. Born in 1895.

Eric had at least 2 children and fought in World War 1 with the AIF, joining in 1915 and discharged in 1918.

Any help great fully accepted.

Thanks

Guys,

Thanks for all your help. Unfortunately for the moment, the trails seems to have gone cold. You never know when some new information comes to light. If it does, I may come back here to gather further info.

Thanks again

Hi Lisa.

Robert Disney Jones (Jnr) B1846 was the eldest brother of Sheppard. Indeed they did not have any children and from what has recently come to our attention, his estate was distributed to his siblings and a nephew.

I have been looking to get a copy of his will and the information you have given will assist me in that.

Given that Sheppard was 70 in 1940, I'm not sure that he'd have moved(total conjecture on my part)

Keep the theories comming.

Glen
