World War Two / Stalag 4A

My father-in-law was attached to camp 4A in the Dresden area in Germany, but seconded to Kommando 502 working at a mine and keeping the railway lines clear.  Would anyone know the whereabouts of this?

I have his army record Ken and it states any false information would result in a 2 years' sentence with hard labour, so I can understand why he kept quiet about it.  Being so young he may not have known about the boys' service or maybe there was none in the Blackwatch.  Helen

Thank you Ken.  The reason I ask is that my father joined up in 1928 and made himself older, but only by 6 months.  If the age was 18 and not 17 and 1/2 as I thought, then the dates would work out. Helen

Can anyone tell me what the requirements were in 1928 to join up?  Age height etc.

It is Nanny Jan and thank you.  I was hoping to find relatives as he was born too late for official records.  I am hoping to write the stories of the men lost in WW2 and on the Leitholm war memorial.  I have completed the WW1 stories.  Once again many thanks, Helen

Hi Aitchscot,
I see you have Jenkinson ancestors.  I am trying to trace a Warrant Officer John Andrew Jenkinson who was killed in WW2 and is commemorated on the Leitholm war memorial, which is next door to Fogo.  Would he have any connections to you? Helen
