I am years late in chipping in on this conversation, but in case any of you still drop by -  I wonder if Annie Blain was the same person who was known to lots of Delamere and Norley children as Mam Blain. Mam Blain was a sort of child-minder/foster mother for many children. My mother lived with her for some time when, I assume, my Gran was ill.
