Hi Jill - I don't think there is an on-line one,  but I do have a microfiche one - who are you after?

DebbieG

Hi Debbie, would you be able to check your index for any references to the following names:

Chalk (or Chalke) in Thatcham between 1580-1800
Fulbrook (or Fulbrooke) in Thatcham c1680-1750
Whitebread (or Whitehead?) in Yattendon c1620-1700

I hope you will be able to help.

Kent / Barham churchyard
« on: Tuesday 27 November 12 00:12 GMT (UK)  »
Is there anyone who has access to Barham churchyard (or plans of it) who would be able to look up a possible burial or tomb for me? I have a copy of the will of Thomas Ladd of Barham (probate 1603) in which he states he is to be "buried in the churchyard of Barham, near unto Gate's tomb between it and the church". I am assuming that "Gate's tomb" refers to another burial there or a tomb and that Thomas was to be buried between the tomb and the church wall. Does anyone know if either tomb still exists? Alternatively does anyone know of any Ladd memorials/tombs etc in Barham?

Northamptonshire / Re: Children of Sir Thomas Greene and Mary Talbot
« on: Thursday 25 October 12 01:30 BST (UK)  »
Evening all

I’m trying to find out more about the children of Sir Thomas Greene (d.1417) and Mary Talbot (d.1433) of Green’s Norton in Northamptonshire.

According to various sources, that they had a son, also called Thomas, who was born c.1400 in Green Norton. This Thomas was the 2nd Great Grandfather of Catherine Parr, sixth and last Queen of Henry VIII, therefore details on his descendants are documented fairly well

My interest in the Green family lies in what other children were born to Thomas and Mary. Some websites document that they had a daughter, Margaret, who married a Richard Ardren (Arderne), and produced a daughter Alice Arden, who married into the De Denne family of Denne Hill, Kingston, Kent, who are my ancestors

The problem is that so far I haven’t found any creditable evidence that this Margaret is a daughter of Thomas and Mary, or that she is the wife and mother of Richard and Alice

If there is anyone out there that has knowledge of the Greene family or who can point me in the right direction, I would be grateful

Regards
Lee

I have some information on them somewhere. I will try and dig it out at the weekend for you.

Surrey Lookup Requests / Re: Denne

Can anyone point me in the right direction. I have come accross a long line of Denne's in my ancestry. I went on line to Amazon books for some background reading to the Dennes of the 1400's around Kingston but ended up buying a book about Dennes which gave some more modern history. Does anyone know of some specific ancestry reading for this family name based around Surrey and Kent. Thank you. Ankaret.

I have a lot of information on this family from various sources including Wills and references to documents in the National Archives and elsewhere. I have a couple of printed pedigrees from a book and a family tree which I have compliled from all the various sources I have. If you would like I am happy to email you some information.

How do you connect to this family then?

Hi Matthew,

I'm planning a trip to the Maidstone records library in a couple of weeks time, so PM me with the details and I'll try my best to get them for you while I'm there.

Mrs. T.

Thanks for that, I will send you the details this week.

Kent / Wills at Maidstone
« on: Saturday 13 October 12 01:10 BST (UK)  »
Is there anyone who would be able to obtain copies of some wills when they next visit the record centre at Maidstone. The wills were proved in the Archdeaconry of Canterbury and I can supply dates and full references.

I have tried to obtain these through the FamilySearch website at The National Archives and although I have found several of the wills I am after I have not been able to find some as the system does not appear to be indexed and so it is not possible to search by a refrence number (plus the documents do not appear to be scanned in any logical order).

I hope someone will be kind enough to help and I am happy to pay for copying and postage costs.

Does anyone have access to parish registers for Folkestone covering the 16th and 17th centuries? I am looking for information on these names:

INGRAM
INMETH
RAYNER

My ancestor Thomas Rayner married Julian (according to the IGI so I suspect this may be Juliana) Ingram in Folkestone in 1631. She appears to have been born in 1611 to John Ingram and his wife Julian (nee Inmeth, who was buried on the same day her daughter was christened).

These are such unusual names that I would like to get back further or find out more about these people. Thomas Rayner was born in 1601 to John Rayner.

If these names look familiar to anyone or if anyone can help with finding any more information on them please let me know.
