Census Lookup and Resource Requests / Re: Caroline Musaphia / 1881 Census
« on: Sunday 20 October 13 01:15 BST (UK)  »
The 1881 is free to search here

https://familysearch.org/search/collection/1321821

I note from your previous posts that the names vary as does the spelling so would suggest you search just using one of the children's christian names/birthyears etc and omit the surname from any search

Thanks for the tip. She is the only person missing from this census but I can't find her elsewhere. She definitely didn't die as she is in the census ten years after.

Thank you for that! I can't seem to find Aaron and Hannah's daughter Sarah who I am a grandchild of.

Sarah Musaphia
B.1889 in Spitalfields
D.1980 in Spitalfields

1891 census CaroleW posted above.
1911 Census says she is married to Solomon Vanderberg.

I just can't find her in 1901.

Thanks
Isaac

1891 reference

RG12 Piece 274 Folio 100 Page 44 - Musaplira but has been amended to Musaphia.  Down as Joseph & Jane not Aaron and Hannah

Any idea why the parents are down as Joseph and Jane, rather than Aaron and Hannah?

Census and Resource Discussion / Red writing on census?
« on: Sunday 13 October 13 20:42 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

Does the red writing with the number '800' mean anything significant next to the word 'Russia' on the Birthplace column of the 1911 census. I am still trying to discover where in Russia they came from.

Thanks,
Isaac
