Hi Lee, my garden fence is the parish boundary for Horne, so I am right on the spot.
There is a place called Bysshe Court Cottages, Chithurst Lane, Horne - on the ground it is now a modern bungalow which is part of a farm. I will have a walk down there in the nest few days to see what I can find out. Many older cottages were demolished after WW2 as they were not valued and more modern housing was needed for workers.
My own cottage was made from two like that and another 2 across the lane were demolished.
Vandalism !
I think the suggestion about South Godstone being the location of Station Cottage is very likely correct. If so, the cottage would be right on what is now the A22.
Hope that helps,
Kind regards, Pete
