been looking at my gr grandfather born 1879. found him in the 1911 census living as a boarder in clewer in windsor. It has his birth place in the typed area as carrow lincoln. After having a look I can't find a carrow in Lincs so checked original and i don't think it says carrow at all but not sure what it says.looks abit like carrot :). if anyone could help i would be greatful.

Family History Beginners Board / 2 spouses on same census

Hi peeps

first off can I just say what a lovely forum this is everyone is so friendly and helpful.

Now down to business, i,m researching James Chittock and found him on the 1901 census with sophia stated as spouse and an Anne Smith as spouse, and again on the 1891 as married to matilda and a Sarah smith is also down as her spouse as james chittock. This is on the ancestry site  and on the typed version rather than the original document. Is it cos she is down as wife for someone else living with them and they have just put james as spouse as he is the head?

Hi I know this is an old post but was wondering if you knew anything about the chittocks? my gr grandmother was a chittock and I have seen the name linked to the Chipperfields, I think it was Sophia Chipperfield married james chittock. I have pieced together a few bits from different census but have found it quite hard to trace with all the moving around.

regards kelly

Trying to prove or disprove a family rumour. My gr, gr, grandmother was Clarissa Morrison born about 1854/5 around the ken sington area. Rumour has it that there is a connection there to Lord Herbert Morrison MP but I am yet to find it, any help or info would be gratefully received
