The Common Room / SIGRIST/SEGREST/SIEGRIST family history
« on: Monday 13 November 06 01:06 GMT (UK)  »
Hi... I'm looking for info on the SIGRIST (or varies spellings) family history. I can go back pretty far, but am stuck on a great grandfather (times 3 or 4 maybe) named PHILIP SIGRIST. I've surfed the internet and looked on numerous other websites. It's almost like he never exsisted.  Again, his name is Philip Sigrist.  He's orginally from Alsace Lorraine, France. He came to the US when he was very young with his parents... names???, brother John and sister, Emma. I think they moved to Ohio and then to MO. Philip and John married the WALTER sisters. (Louise and Mary Catherine, I think). I have more info, but not on me right now. ANY info on Philip and his parents would be GREAT! thanks in advance!

I'm looking for any info about the Sigrist Family.  My g g g great grandfather was Philip Sigrist. (unsure of the yr right now).  He had 2 sibblings, Emma (or Emmaline) and John.  His family moved to the US (PA, I think) from Alsace Lorraine France when Philip was only 3 weeks old.  (I'm unsure of Philips' parents names... this is where I am stuck)!
I think Philip and his brother moved from PA to MO when they were 20 and 21.  They married sisters, Louise and Katherine/Catherine Walters.  (I have some info about the Walters sisters' family.... I have a pic of their father, my ggggrandfather).
I also know about my great grandfather, James Taylor (J.T) Sigrist.  He married Hazel Fern Jackson.  He commited suicide in the 1970's thinking he had cancer. It was later discovered he was cancer free.

Details of living persons removed

I realize there are a number of gaps in this history, and I have most of the left out info in a large book about our fmaily history along with pics, but it's in storage right now.
Any info or even family members would be great! Please write me back here or e-mail me at email address removed in accordance with Rootschat policy - please use the secure Rootschat personal message system to exchange personal email addresses - thankyou
Thanks in advance!

Family History Beginners Board / SIGRIST family!
« on: Thursday 30 June 05 18:31 BST (UK)  »
Hi all! I'm new to this board and thought I'd introduce myself! My name is Jaci (pronounced Jackie) (Sigrist) Woodruff.  I'm almost 28 years old and have been interested in family history for a long time.  I'm so lucky to still have both of my paternal grandparents and they have been very helpful in my quest to find out more about my family.  My grandmother has been able to give me info about my great, great, great grandfather, PHILIP SIGRIST, but that is as far back as I can go.  I know nothing about his parents.
PHILIP had a brother named JOHN.  The family moved from Alsace Lorraine France to the US (PA,  I think) when Philip was young.  Later, Philip and John moved to Missouri where they married a set a sisters, twins, I believe.  (I think it was the WALTERS sisters. One was Kathleen??????)
My great grandfather was James Taylor (J.T.) Sigrist.  He married Hazel Fern Jackson.  He comitted suicide in the early 1970's. He thought he had cancer, only to discover he did not.
My grandfather is James Raphel (J.R.) Sigrist and he married Audrey Melvina (Temple).  I am the eldest grandaughter on the Sigrist side.
If anyone has ANY info on the Sigrist family from Alsace Lorraine France, please let me know! Thanks in advance!
