hi amy I am john dowling I stay in Scotland eldest of 9     7 lads  2 sis I managed to get john dowlings m.c he was married in 1844 in hamersmith London   name of father on mc was joseph dowling its different in Scotland the mother and father names are added on b.c so can be tracked a lot easier I have managed to track some of his brothers and sisters but no closer to finding joseph

             distant cousin I have a tree on ancestry..co.uk I am under johndowling or [johndowlig2] I have     john dowling marriage cert of 1841 he was born in Ireland in 1809 he died in 1851 can not seem to go back any further ...see if you can on to ancestry you will have to reg.then I think I can invite you to view and add to the tree[the free one ]
 i tried to get info from the nursing home about john angus but got nowhere
 also peter if you click on the small figure below the shield [looks like a chess piece] .you will get my posts then you can read all my posts

              I am john Frederick I stay near Edinburgh my dad john Henry married Jane[jean] McGrath in Edinburgh 1946 I was born in Hammersmith in 1947 they went  back to Edinburgh then another  8 siblings were added I have a public tree on ancestry. going back  to Walter e h have you managed to trace his daughter Mabel? just going out so will post to you tomorrow.. you will have to post
3 times on roots chat before we  can email each other just say hi twice

is there any kind person that could add a bit of colour

girls and gran are auburn...blue eyes [firey redheads mum was that] boys hair little darker  eyes hazel brown

these are the only photos that I seen mum as a kid and I am  67

No problem, the experts will see your Thread soon. Trouble for me is cap badges are side on. One Canadian, again no problem, they had and still do? have Scottish regiments.
