The earliest info I have is the marriage of Joseph Byrne to Elizabeth Champion 14/05/1876 in Dundrum, Co. Dublin RC church. Her parents Richard & Elizabeth.

1911 census shows Matthew ,Sherriff rank RIC (b.Waterford)(56),wife Margaret Mary(b.Galway)(46). 4 children born Clare, Richard 20,Margaret Mary 12,Matthew 10,Patrick Joseph 9. All RC.

About the sum total of my knowledge. P.

Trevor, thanks for that info. Looks a bit old for my man but could be his father. I will try to follow it up. P.

I am looking for info on a Richard Champion  married to Elizabeth in Dublin? Possibly a member of RIC.
Daughter, Elizabeth ii married Joseph Byrne, and had at least 3 children, Elizabeth iii(1883-1944) Margaret(c1877-?) & Edward (1880-?).
Elizabeth iii married Bernard Murphy in 1907(1874/5-1915). KIA Ypres. 1st Batt.Leinster Regt.
