Hi Les57,

Thank you very much for your time and effort.  Again, that's the best lead I've had so far.

Thank you,

Hi Les57,

Thank you very much for the info.  That is the best lead I have so far.  Just wondering, where were you able to check these records?  Mary Rea married a William Morgan in about 1817, supposedly in Belturbet, but checking on rootsireland.ie, I can't find a marriage record.  Maybe they were married at the Corraneary church?  Again, thanks a lot.

Matt

Hello Doug,

You mentioned a James Campbell that came to Belturbet in 1690.  I was wondering what else you know about James Campbell if you wouldn't mind sharing.  Do you know exactly where he was from?  Religion?  Age? Married?  Children?   Why did he come to Ireland?

Thank you,
Matt

Hello Morgan,

Thanks for the web site, I was not aware of it.  I've been playing around on it and its great.
Yeah, my problem is the church records only say "William, son of William Morgan" when it seems like there were dozens of Wm. Morgan's at this time at St. Mary's Church.
I do not know if they were from Swansea town or the neighbouring area.  Any idea how one could figure that out?
The William Morgan I'm looking for joined the army in 1809 and died in 1828, never coming back to Swansea.

Thank you,
Matt

I do not have much information on my Rea/Ray family.  My 4th great grandmother, Mary Rea,  was born about 1788 and married a William Morgan (a private in the 14th Light Dragoons) about 1818.  They later settled in Belturbet in 1826.  I suspect she was originally from Bailieborough.  So any information on Rea/Ray families in or around Bailieborough prior to 1820 may be helpful.

Thank you,
Matt

I am looking for information on a Morgan family in Swansea.  My 4th great grandfather, William Morgan, was born 13/14 Oct 1793, in Swansea.  His father's name is also William.

Thank you,
Matt

I am looking for info regarding Campbell's in Belturbet.  What I know of my Campbell family is,  Jane Campbell, daughter of James and Anna Campbell, born in 1824.  It seems Doug is able to go back to the 1690's, I am curious if anyone else is able to trace the Campbell's in Belturbet back that far?
Thank you,
Matt
