Thanks shirl100. I wasn't sure about that--I've seen both online. But I was leaning to Devon too!

Thanks dob7, I'll contact the Pyworthy OPC. Unfortunately I live in Virginia USA so I'm not in a position to do any of my own lookups.

Thanks for the replies. Yep, from censuses she doesn't seem to have led a family intensive life!

I think in the end I may have to buy the birth certificate, but I'm a little unwilling to go that way till I've exhausted all other routes, as it's not my line, but just a favour for a friend.

Cheers, anyway!

Cornwall Lookup Requests / holsworthy baptism--STADDON

Is there anyone who could please look up the christening record of Jane Staddon, born in the first three months of 1859 in Holsworthy, or possibly Pyworthy? I've seen her marriage record, where the space for her father's name just says "illegitimate" but I'd like to find her mother's name, and if any father's name was suggested at her christening. Thanks very much in advance!

The Common Room / Re: Two mothers-in-law? Running out of ideas!

You may have already solved this by now, but Hanorah Kingston was the mother of Michael Driscoll. She married Daniel Kingston when Michael's father, Patrick Driscoll, died. Mary Ann Murphy was Ellen Murphy's mother--Ellen Murphy and Michael Driscoll were married in 1847.

Hope this helps!
