Technical Help / Re: British Newspaper Archive downloads

... use the snipping tool to snip and save the article, and discard the page...

The problem with this method is that you can only snip what is shown on screen. If the article is a long column, you have to zoom out to show the entire thing on-screen and then the resulting snip has poorer resolution. As already suggested, zooming in to be readable and then snipping sections and finally stitching those together in an image editor is the best workaround to the problem.

If only BNA would implement the same extraction facility as provided by Newspapers.com!

You can’t do much about the minimal number of programs (apps), so you have to review your data files to consider moving them to alternative storage. But before doing that, I imagine you’ve already reduced unnecessary system files (such as clearing browser cache) but what about cleaning-up Windows temporary files? There’s often 100s of MB tied up with those, even GBs if you upgraded Windows. That’s used space which is safe to recover.

If your laptop doesn’t have the Photos app now, you can reinstall it.
Go to the Microsoft Store to download.

If you double-click on the file that you've emailed to yourself, does it open in a photos app (so you can see the pic)? If not, that's the source of your problem. The Windows Photos app has a habit of "forgetting" the file-types its associated with but is easily fixed.

Report back as necessary.

Go to Settings > Apps > Scroll down the list to find the Photos (Microsoft Photos) icon
Select (click) it and then Advanced Options
Scroll down until you find Reset and click on the Repair box.

Unless you've cleared your browser history, its URL should still be there.

Regarding "atrocities"... I'm reminded of this educational film from the 1930s that covers the whole sordid and frightful business.  ;)

Do you live your life "off grid"? Census is always big news on TV, newspapers and internet. How could you not have been aware? Also, if the forms were delivered and not returned, there's personal follow-up at your door.

You first need to export/download your tree as a gedcom file (*.ged). Then use another utility program to convert it to *.csv in order to import to Excel (or whatever). An example such program is GedTool.

EDIT: Sorry, I misread your question and didn't note that you're asking about search results, not your tree.

Seems unlikely to me that checking the "remember" box could supersede an enabled 2-FA selection.
