Cassie was born in 1881 she is in the  Clenagh 1901 census. There was only talk of one son he died with while cutting turf ,with a stroke. he was 19? years. My Grand mother was called Red Mary and this trend went through the generations  A neice of hers  had red hair and was married and living in Red Row in Buncrana late 1960's She was either married to a  McClauglin or Mcgonigle . I dont know which sister was her mother.

I have just come across the original baptisimal cert for my Grandmother Mary Donagy 2nd May 1879 in St Marys Buncrana  . Father is George Donaghy but mother is given as Catherine Mclaughlin .This would make her an aunt of of Mary McClaughlin Fallisk as my Grandmother was Marys 1st Cousin . MY Grandmother had one brother George who died young  and sisters Bridget, Sarah ,Ellen, Hannah,Cassie  . This Donaghy branch died out with the death of the son. This solves one of the connection problems for me. Would the dates be correct for the Cassie Donaghy mentioned in earlier posts

Hi Annie

I am in Clonmany at the moment ,the only one to return. Are the graves for Mcclaughlin or Donaghy in Cockhill?

Best wishes Ned (Ned ,my great grandfather ,carried a 20 stone cornsack from Clonmany to Meendoran without stopping)

Hi Carole

Thanks for your promt response. I must try to get her marrige cert just to be sure .Elizabeth married Ruben James Wheeler(coachman for Dr Waller Chelmsford) in St Mary's Bromfield Essex 17th March1882 so records might be a little more reliable then.

Best Wishes
Ned  (My great grand father who could carry 20 stone cornsacks on his back without stopping ,for 6 k ,to get home from village)

Elizabeth Maria Stoneham was the daughter of Maria Stoneham and the grandchild of Edward Stoneham and Elizabeth Taylor . She was born, I think ,in Kettlebaston ,father unknown. I am trying to trace the name of the father. Elizabeth Maria would be my great, grandmother. Any thoughts please.

Hi Annie
Thanks for the info ,I got some more info myself today so Iwill have to sift through the census detail and try and make some sense of it.There seems to be a Doherty connection in the mix, as well ,between the two families.

Reading through the old posts I remember visiting the Harkins in Malin and hearing the Kevin Barry stories.

Chat again soon thanks. Ned

Hi
My Grandfather(John McCahill & Mary McCahill) lived in Meendoran next to the Harkins home place. My grandmother was Mary Donaghue /Donaghy from Clenagh a daughter of George and Kate Donaghy. Mary was a first cousin of Mary Mclaughlin (Potts) from Fallisk . Do you have any information on the connection between the Donaghys and the Mclaughlins. My father always called the Harkins his cousins ?

Thanks in anticipation
