Hi all,
I am GG granddaughter of Thomas Christie Bradshawe and am completely puzzled about the whole family situation surrounding his birth and circumstances. His parents are Isabella Kernahan and Paris William Augustus Bradshawe.  Thomas sometimes goes by the name of Christie.  Isabella seems to end up in a workhouse giving birth to Thomas and Paris (who died as a baby).  Next thing Paris is a widower and married to Rebecca Fanny from Jamaica who has another Thomas (three years younger) and another Paris.  Some time after this she gives birth to George.
Why would Paris William Augustus (who was of high military position) have a wife who ended up in a workhouse?  Why would he remarry and then have two more sons with the same names?  I think that the two boys listed as Rebecca's may have actually been Isabella's boys but raised as her own by Rebecca.  If this is correct why is young Paris's death recorded in the workhouse?

Also there is another mystery.  If Isabella is the same person who ended up as a pauper in the workhouse, whose behavior is listed as bad, she was probably then a little crazy.  Now the younger Paris, listed as Rebecca's son, ended up in a lunatic asylum and died as a pauper.  Was he really Isabella's son who ended up crazy like his mother?
