Hi,
Whilst waiting  for the birth certificate. Is anyone able to look up the marriage and see who the witnesses were. This may help pin point George a bit more. i don't think he was Stephen George as Stephen appears on other census as well as George.
All help greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Carole,
I don't have a birth certificate at all. I was going by the census that lists him on the 1901 and 1911 census as being born abt 1851 in Kingsclere. Have his death in Hungerford in 1934. Cannot trace a census from 1861 or 1871 that shows him.
Thanks for the swift reply.

Hi,
Is it possible for some one to look up the birth of George Alder born in Kingsclere in 1851 according to all the census I have seen. I have him married to Annie Jackson but can only find one entry for birth.
That being with his mother as Anna Alder and it looks as though she was unmarried. I am trying to eliminate any others that it may be around at that time.
Any help would be most appreciated.
Thanks
Sue

Hi,
John Austen Macey was born to Rhoda Macey.  He was born out of wedlock. Rhoda Macey later married Charles Butcher who was the father. When he married Kate Wraight in 1895 his name appears as John Austin B Macey. On the 1881  and 1891 census he is listed as John A Butcher. By 1901 he had reverted to Macey. He was my 2nd cousin twice removed.

Hi,
Sorry to be a pain but yet another look up. The marriage of Robert Macey and Mary Castle/Cassell 17/03/1776. And also Richard Macey and Catherine Carpenter 30/05/1789.
Have researched these families but no access to looking up witnesses. How would I go about this and on what site. Have quite a few to look up but dont want to keep pestering.

Many Thanks
Sue

Hi,

I have found a marriage in St.Georges in the East, London.
John Massey married Mary Austen 18/04/1736
I know London is a long way from Wye but looking further into the tree several of the Massey/Macey family went onto live in St.Pancreas and were licencees, they were all born in Wye,Kent. I have found 3 so far that went to London and were there in 1851. Was puzzled why the move back to London any how.
Also found a John Massey married to Sarah Bolton in Teynham 4/6/1805. This is the son of Robert Macey/Massey and Mary Castle. On a further census John has the surname Macey. This could then be the link I am looking for.....maybe. Alot of the family also used Massey of Masey for surnames. This John and Mary could therefore, hypothetically, be the grandparents of the John I am searching for.
Any ideas on this one at all. Need to try and find some births for the said John and Mary Massey.
Thanks
Sue

Hi Tony,

Yes one of their children were born in Wye, Kent in 1821 Emily Macey.

Have found Sarah Attwater in Iwade 1827. Not too sure if that's the one though.
1851 Census has a William Macey in Willesborough, Kent. Pauper. Has him marked down as a sailor.
 Thanks
Sue
