UP-DATE... i wish there was a way to attach a photo, so that I can put the actual baptism parish record of William Dixon Kennedy and other items, but I guess text will have to do for now
William Dixon Kennedy
Christening
Dec. 26th, 1824.
William Dixon son of Robert & Harriet Kennedy.
Abode: Pilgrim St.
Occupation: Shoemaker.
Then I decided to go back to check on Maria's baptism record in Sheffield.
Kennedy, Maria (of Sheffield, born 1815-12-29).
Baptised April 7, 1816, by e goodwin at Sheffield Parish Church, Church Street, Sheffield.
Parents name(s) are harriett & robert (shoemaker). http://sheffieldindexers.com/ParishBaptismIndex.html
So that confirms they were in the York area at some point. The only Robert Kennedy and Harriet that I could find were in Kingston upon Hull...HOWEVER I did not have anything confirming it was actually them. Then someone found this for me
(And it was a copy of the ACTUAL register with their signatures, etc).
27 Nov 1814
Kingston Upon Hull, Yorkshire, England
Robert Kennedy
Occupation: Shoemaker
Residence: Hull Holy Trinity
Marriage date & place: 27 Nov 1814 Hull, Holy Trinity
By licence or by banns: B
Spouse: Harriott Dixon
Spouse's residence: Hull Holy Trinity
Spouse's marital status: S
Father's first name(s) - Spouse's father's first name(s) -
Witness 1 George Eamshaw
Witness 2 Ann Thompson County Yorkshire (East Riding)
So FINALLY something to tie them all together...with him being a shoemaker.
Robert seems to disappear after William Dixon's baptism in 1824.
***Next question...Does anyone know of a record set where I could find their address & if he had a business?
Thank you
Rhonda Kennedy

We may or may not be connected. Kennedy: probably not. I don't recognize a Hugh in our line. Depends on the Dixon connection, if she was born with parents of Robinson Dixon and Elizabeth Laming who are the parents of Harrit Dixon born in 1791 in Kingston Upon Hull, York, England... then yes!
Although, oddly enough, I did live in Niagara Falls NY for 12 yrs which is just 1/2 hr or so away from Buffalo. Will check into it later. Rhonda
