My Allen line in Loughgall started with Benjamin Allen b.1779, whom married an Elizabeth.
There son Abraham was born 1810 and married Mary Lindsay.
Although my Allen's were originally from Scotland, so probably just another Allen family to add to the confusion 😉

Just a quick update on my very slow progress :) Mary was born, mummel, near goulburn, NSW, to Bartholomew O'Sullivan and Catherine Crowley, who were from Cork ;D Cheers, Julie.

My friend is now in possession of his files from different boys homes, ward of state papers, letters from family etc Found his dads name, Leslie Fairchild  ;D He wants me to thank you all for your help, so thank you  :D

Just wanted to say thank you all so much ;D I finally have Norm's death cert! He was born in loughgall, armagh to Thomas Allen, fruit farmer, loughgall and Elizabeth Unknown  :-\  There are literally a bajillion Thomas Allen's Lol Can't seem to find a marriage of one to Elizabeth though. Thankyou essie for that information :) i recieved brians birth certificate the other day from a very helpful lady that worked at the surrey hills boys home in melbourne. It says mothers maiden name KENDALL, 33 years old, born carlton. And that my friend was born at the womens hospital in carlton. Not alot to go on :-/ And also no info on the father.

Sorry for the late reply, i must have accidently turned off my email activation. My ancestryship ran out 3 weeks ago but i will be renewing it soon :) i have found a few kendalls born in carlton and some in richmond. Have not found may's birth or death. My friend was adopted in 1947 and his biggest question is where his family came from, scotland england etc. Thanks so much for the info, i will check the census records as soon as i can :) cheers, julie.

Am just wondering if anyone can find anything on May Elizabeth Kendall? Have been searching for a friend of mine who was adopted and so far have found out that she was born in 1913-14 in Carlton, Victoria, Australia. Any help would be much appreciated, cheers Julie :)
