Okay, as someone new to this site, it appears that I need to put more messages up before I can  use the PM faciility, and my email has been removed, which is fair enough.  I'll post more info about Robert Henry Flowers here:

Robert Henry Flowers was born in the first quarter of 1870 in Brighton, Sussex, England. he was the son of Robert Flowers (1842- Unknown date of death) and Caroline Elisabeth Flowers nee Adams (1847-1929).  His 8 siblings were all born in England with the exception of the youngest who was born in Riverton New Zealand. He was the thrid child, and eldest son.

Robert Henry Flowers was about 10 when he immigrated from England to New Zealand with his family, on the "Mataura" - a fully sail-rigged steam ship that was very modern for its time. The family settled in Riverton, where they lived, according to family oral history, in quite a large home. However, Robert Senior, (Robert Henry's father) disappeared around about 1885 - it is not currently known where to, but my father used to tell me that his grandfather was 'killed in the bush at Riverton' but he admitted not long belong he died that his grandfather had actually just taken off and left his family.

Robert Henry grew into a very personable young man, and  became a minister of religion - I think possibly methodist, but I cannot be sure.  I have a delightful photograph of him in a boater hat.  According to NZ electoral roles he lived in the South Island area of "Wallace" (where Riverton is) but he may well have lived in another town in that area.

He left to live in the USA in 1908 at aged 38.

I will continue in another post...

This entry from Sandra is quoting from my tree.  If you want to ask me more about this particular Robert Henry Flowers,   and my research about him, email me at (*)

Just to put you in the picture, incase you haven't come across the entry - There is a family tree entry that says Robert Henry Flowers son of Robert Flowers and Caroline Elisabeth Adams married Nora Patrie Breeden/Dame in Illinois. USA.  ???

There is a marriage record on the family search site but does not show his parents, also gives year of birth as 1875  ???

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/N7C5-T4B

A Robert H Flowers (Born 1870) did immigrate 1908 and was living in Chicago Ward 21, Cook, Illinois in 1910

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/MKZ8-B7S

Looks like Nora was a widow in 1920 Galesburg Ward 1, Knox, Illinois and died 8th Jan 1943 Cook County. Illinois.

Hi There
Not sure when you left your message on Rootschat.com about researching Edward Henry Walker and Mary Ellen Mitchell, but I have records about descendants of these two as they are my husband's great grandparents.

If you wish to contact me, I am happy to share info

regards
