Hi Ross, thanks for the update. I have had a bit of trouble with this laptop and seem to have lost a bit of information from it. I think some of the Gillbanks crew moved to Ambleside and a couple of the men later lived in Ingleton Yorkshire, but as far as I could determine none of them had any children, I could be wrong though.

Hello Elwyn, It is hard to say, When he married in Liverpool it was at St Luke's Anglican Church, but his children were all baptised Catholic, except one, who was baptised Anglican, and he was buried as a Catholic.

Hi Trish, that does seemto be the family, although the place names are different, and Killbanks could easily be a missunderstanding by the census taker. Thank you.

Hi crisaneYes, I believe they are a different Gillbanks Family who I have been trying to unite with mine, the Name Benjamin does indicate that there could be a link.

Hi CaroleW, on the 1881 Census he is down as born in Scotland, but his family say it was Newcastle, his Son Benjamin was born in Newcastle in 1851. His wife is named as Annie born 1816, but that must surely be wrong, either that or the marriage wasn't in 1825.

Hi  I am looking for Joseph Jeffers supposedly born in Forkhill, Armagh about 1842, he married in Liverpool in 1869 and his Father is named as Matthew Jeffers a farmer on his marriege document, Co-incidently there was also a Samuel Jeffers living in Liverpool at the same time who, on the 1891 census was described as born in Forkhill, Father, Matthew Jeffers, a Farmer, I wonder if they were brothers? Any help to resolve these questions will be welcomed.

Hi, I am trying to find the name of  James Gillbanks' Father and Mother, he was reputedly born in Newcastle in 1804, any help would be appreciated. James Married in 1825, but am not sure where.

Hi Graham, yes, I know that the same names for the  sons right through since Isaac's time were all Isaac, John, William Joseph, James and Agnes, Ann, and Mary, for the girls right up to the mid 20th Century. Thank you once again for your interest and imput. Regards, Jim.
