Ireland / Royal Irish Constabulary
« on: Wednesday 03 August 16 12:51 BST (UK)  »
I have several ancestors who I believe were in the Royal Irish Constabulary. I don't have service numbers for them to search for them at Kew. I know there is a book which lists all these numbers. Does anyone know where I can get access to it? TIA

Thanks. I've just googled it but it doesn't mention, anywhere I can find, that it was used as a burial ground for anyone other than US servicemen during WW2. Did there used to be a public burial ground there too?

Hi All! I am trying to find where in L.A. Isabella McCormick is buried. She was born on 12 June 1874 in Ireland. After living in England for a while she emigrated to U.S.A in 1925 and is shown in the 1930 census as living in L.A. She died there on 2 April 1954 and I would love to locate her grave is someone could help. Btw, she never married. Many thanks.

Hi all! I have a newspaper cutting for my gt gt grandfather STEVENSON WILSON. He died on 18 Aug 1898 at his home in Hatfield St and was interred in Castlereagh Burying Ground. My query is where is this cemetery and does anyone live close enough to check it out for me. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

Hi Kingskerswell,

Thanks for that info. I was hoping that they were in fact 2 brothers and sisters - I had my suspicions!
Perhaps someone with easy access to the full marriage entries will be able to give me details of residence, occupations and witnesses.

I'm sure the minister wasn't too chuffed at having to perform 2 wedding ceremonies on Christmas Day while his turkey got cold!

I'm hoping someone out there can help me with some more details on 2 weddings that took place in Ballynahinch 3rd Presbyterian Church.

1. Samuel Carlisle m Elizabeth Reid on 25/12/1868
2. Thomas Carlisle m Mary Ann Reid on 25/12 1871

Any help is much appreciated

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
My computer is broken at the moment so I'm doing this on my phone with no records in front of me. I'm going to have to work off my memory!
The daughter I have for James Boyd and Eliza McMullan is Sarah. Born in 1881 and baptised in Mosside Presbyterian Church. The only Daisy I have is the daughter of David McConaghie and Jeannie Shields born in the 1920s. So is the girl in your photo Sarah or Daisy?
I can't seem to see any other photos that you posted but I'm not sure if it's because I'm on my phone and not my computer.
Heather
