Kerry / Re: Marriage of Ann Charley and Thomas McEneiry

Thanks for this.  It seems like a fair assumption that these are the parents of the Ann Charley who married Thomas McEnery, but there is still no certainty as far as I can see.  Also, there is still no verification of who Thomas's parents were.  But thanks for trying to help.

Thomas McEneiry (OR McEnery) married Ann Charley in Killorglin on 21 January 1843. It seems that their parents were not recorded.  Does anyone have reliable information about who their parents might be, please?

Kerry / Daniel Charley

My great-grandfather, Daniel Charley was married on 2nd June 1866 to Margaret Neil. It is given that he was a widower at this time. Would anyone have information about a prior marriage of Daniel, and children from this earlier marriage? Daniel was born probably in Killorglin in 1820, and Margaret probably in 1840 in Lissavane. We understand that Julia was the only issue of Daniel's second marriage, but it seems that she may have had siblings - presumably from the first marriage.

Hi, it is so long since I posted my message that I had quite forgotten about it! But thank you for your response. And I would like details of any reunion. Currently we are in Ireland, but heading for home in a week's time. You can contact me directly at ecajaa@gmail.com. Regards, Clyde Andrews (Pilgrim1936).

Thank you both for your help on this.  I'll investigate this end and see what I can uncover.

Kerry / Shipping passenger lists

I am trying to find the immigration details of my grandmother, Julia Marguerite Charley or Charlie.  She was born, as I understand it, in Killorglin, Co. Kerry, in 1871.  She married my grandfather in NSW on 9 November 1889, so obviously immigrated before then.  I have struck a brick wall in trying to uncover anything at all about this.  Can anyone please make any suggestions as to how I might discover how she came out.  She may have travelled through England, or may have come directly from Ireland.  I have no idea of the name of the ship(s) she travelled on, or whether she came alone or accompanied.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Many thanks.

Thanks, Sue.  Yes, I already had this info.  Elizabeth Ruth's parents appear to be Henry Millar, born in the USA in about 1847, and Ruth Thorn, born in NSW in about 1858, but that's as far as I've managed to advance.

Thanks for this.  Yes, we do have copies of the many funeral notices.  We have not yet followed up on his siblings, but have thoughts about doing this.

Hi, I am trying to further my knowledge of the above family.  Daniel Darrock Low (17 Sep 1872 in Scotland - 15 Mar 1931 in Sydney) married Elizabeth Ruth Millar (27 Mar 1877 in Sydney - 10 May 1967 in Sydney).  It is their parents I would like to know more about.  Daniels' parents may have been a William Low who died in Aug 1930 in Redfern NSW and Agnes Young who died in 1893 in Sydney, but I have no birth info on either of them, but as they were married in Dundee, Scotland on 9 Oct 1868, they were presumably both born in Scotland, if this is the right couple.  I have no info about their immigration either.  All of William and Agnes' children were born in Scotland, the last on 1 Jul 1874.
Any help would be appreciated.
