Hello,
Further information concerning your family. I am related to the Keanes. I do not know much about the Casey family. The details you find in the Census for 1901 and 1911 relates to Ellen's grandfather, John Snr. He lived in the family home and took over ownership from his mother.

http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Kerry/Portmagee/Portmagee_Town/105278/. I have been told this house was by the water's edge and the house by the bridge is a different house which was built by John Jnr when he got married. I have been in the house when John's brother lived there. My mother nor I remember it being pink.
My link to you is through John Snr.'s sister, Ellen. Your grandmother was called after her. It seems the family would also call your grandmother Nell.
There are strong links with Valentia Island. I think John Snr's mother came from there but John's father was from the Portmagee area. I can go back a little further but not much.
I will send you by private message your direct ancestors (as much as I know it). If you have more information about the family, I would appreciate it.
Any queries, please contact me.
