Thank you for that Suzy w. I found out that some of my ancestors were indeed shoe makers so I shall research the Bostock shoe factory.

Hi. 1861 census for Newman.. George Newman son 16 is my great grandfather. I have been trying to trace his son Harry Lvingstone Newman who is my grandfather. He was born 17.1.1876 in Cheadle. Married Hylda MacDougall on 22.9.1913 and died on 20.09. 1944. It seems we are researching the same family.. any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
