Derbyshire / Derby Railway Works Employee Records
« on: Thursday 14 February 13 16:12 GMT (UK)  »
Hello,

I was wondering where I can find any information available on a employee of the LMR (??) Railway based in Derby in the early 1900's??

I have been watching Michael Portillo doing his trips around the UK and it's sparked an interest in my Grandad who worked as a millwright (I believe) at the railway works in Derby from about 1905 ...... I would love to find out more about it and what his work entailed.

Any suggestions gratefully received......

Derbyshire / Church Broughton tithe(?) records
« on: Tuesday 18 December 12 16:09 GMT (UK)  »
Hello,

Does anyone know if there are any accessible records from the 17th C for farm tithes/rents that were paid.  I believe that Church Broughton was part of the Duke of Devonshire's estate and am interested in seeing if an ancestor is mentioned in any documents that may have survived.

Thank you

Hello!

Derek - Thank you so much for all the info!!!  Funnily enough I came across Allsteel Chaddock last night on IGI but wasn't too sure about his relationship to my tree.  I also managed to find Charles after asking you about him - sorry!!
 :-[

Carol - Thank you for letting me know Hannah's maiden name.  Thats another branch to add to the neverending list   ;D

I never knew just how addictive this family tree research can be !!

Once again thanks for all your help with these queries.  No doubt there will be more.

Regards

Soo
