Just had a look at the census and you are right .  Thats means the baptism at St Michael and John is the right one.
Many thanks again.

Thanks Nettie.  They do look like their children.  In the 1901 and 1911 census there is a son Patrick but it gives DOB as 1893 not 1897.  No mention of a Brigid so maybe she died.  The church they were baptised in may be a clue as where Patrick and Bridget were married in 1895.  Will check it out.

Thanks Heywood for your quick reply and help with where to order the certificate.  Yes that is the marriage I have.  Problem is when you fill in the marriage application form they want the church name and address and we dont know which one it is.  It has to be a Catholic church and I think as they lived in Stephen St maybe it was in that general area -South Dublin?  Also found a Patrick Walsh baptised at St Audeon, Dublin in May 1877 and this Patrick may be the one we are looking for.  His parents were a Patrick Walsh and Eliza Tyrrell.  When you said order the photocopy for 4 euros do you mean it is sent to an email address for 4 euros instead of costing 20 euros.?
Many thanks.

Dublin / Looking for grandparents Patrick Walsh and Bridget McLoughlin.

I am trying to help a friend find out more about her grandparents Patrick Walsh and Bridget McLoughlin from Dublin. She knows virtually nothing about them.  We know they lived with their children in Stephen St Dublin in the 1901 and 1911 censuses.  These documents say they would have been born in 1877 and 1878 in Dublin.  Have found a marriage for 2 people with same names in 1895 and she is having trouble getting the certificate because she doesn't know the church they were married in .  Any suggestions of what we could do to find the church or find out anything more about them?  Hoping someone can help us.
Thanks.

Somerset Lookup Requests / Re: Candy family of Somerset

Dont know if I can be of any help.  I have ancestors from the Frome area in Somerset.  The surnames are Ball and Parfitt.  My 5x grandfather Thomas Ball's mother was Kimbera Candy.  She was born abt 1703.  Maybe she is connected to your Candy family.  Thomas Ball lived in Cloford which is very close to Frome.  You can look up Cloford parish records on the internet and there are quite a few Candys mentioned.
Good luck!

Have you tried to look for him in the 1911 census?  Assuming he was born before the census was taken.

Do you know of any Pattersons in your father's family?  I have a Rainey Patterson b abt 1859 in my tree and I am looking for his ancestors.  Rainey being an unsual christain name I thought there might be a Rainey family connection.  Also found a record of another Rainey Patterson living in Ballylisbredan, Dundonald in 1863.
