I have done many searches but John is still a Yellup and that is the same as my mother's maiden name but My Grandfather prior to his Wedding changed from Yellop to Yellup. Yellup is quite rare but Yellop id fairly common. I can trace Yellop to my Great Granfather (police man) living in Norwich but he had many children and I have not yet had the time to trace each one of his children
Let you know about if I have any of your Mother/Brother phot's but am going on Holiday shortly soit might be some time

I am current researching the Yellup's family tree and came across this entry and photograph.  Do you know the christian names of Mr and Mrs yellup in the photograph?  My Grandfather was Benjamin Edward Yellup (1879-1945) married to Mary Jane.  I was interested when you said that they had a daughter called Marjorie, as I had an Aunt called Marjorie born in 1907 and I have found no one else by this name during this period. The only thing is that I thought they lived in Lowestoff.  If you have any information on the Yellups it would be appreciated.

My name is Roger Booth and this is my 1st message on RootsChat.
Amelia and Arthur Yellup were my Grandparents and their Daughter Marjorie is my Mother
The Yellup's originate from Gt. Yarmouth were Arthur Yellup worked for the Gas Board. They moved to North Walsham in the approx mid 1930's and livied firstly in Grammer School Road before moving to 'Avondale' Skeyton Road wher as a boy and Brother of 2 No siblings have very happy memories.
My Mother Marjrie was actually christened Kate Marjorie Yellup but as a young she hated the name Kate and reverted to her middle name which she was always known by.
Pat, I was not born until after the war so I have no knowledge of your parents staying with my Grandparents and would love to hear more regarding this.
It is really strange reading other peoples interest in my family and I can confirm that both of the photo's posted are that of my family and I have copies of these in my own collection.
Pat I have many other photo's and perhaps one or two of these could be of you parents.
One thing we should be aware of is that the name Yellup is very unusual and is perhaps a derivitive of Yallop of which their are many. I my Granfathers Apprentiship Deeds I note that my Grand father signed his name Yellop and I note from the thread that the name has been referred to as Yallop.
The Name Yellup/Yellop/Yallap originated in Brook near Norwich and my Great Grandfater was a police man who transferred to Gt Yarmouth. My Granmothr's maiden name was Brookes and she was on of 12 children, her father worked on the railways but had a tragic accident in his 50's when a railway truck ran over him and he lost a leg and arm. Their was also something tragis that happend to my Granmother when she was 12 years old, she had an accident which left her stone deaf which she remained for the rest of her life.
I would like to carry out further research on the name Yellup but I have drawn blanks and if anyone can help that would be great.
Pat, I would love to hear more about your Mum and Dad and see the letter you referred to.
