Thanks everyone for your help, i'll try the newspaper route. Yep, i have all of his census returns, and have everything i think i can find on him up to the point of where he was buried. I have the date to will return to Pearse St and try the newspaper records.

Dublin / Looking for a buriel in Dublin - George Carruthers d 1938
« on: Tuesday 20 November 12 18:09 GMT (UK)  »
I've been trying in vain to try and find where my GGrandfather is buried, which i have to presume is in Dublin.. George Carruthers, died March 1938.... no-one in our family seems to know..

I've searched Glasnevin and Deansgrange register of buriels on microfilm and online, as many of my other relations are there including my grandparents and great grandparents on another side.. whom i found there.... but no joy.

Has anyone any ideas where one would go next if they have exhausted all other avenues!! I know George was protestant and switched to Catholic when he married but its presumed he is buried in a catholica graveyard. ... I tried with his wife also, who died many years later and have tried back where she was originally from in Louth in case she brought him back there but no joy! Its a tricky one.

Any advice i guess much appreciated

Dublin / Glasnevin Cemetary - Looking for a grave?
« on: Tuesday 20 November 12 13:44 GMT (UK)  »
Hi

I'm a recent entry to the world of family trees and am absolutely loving every second of it. I've already posted this on Ancestry... I live just beside Glasnevin Cemetary and am happy to take photos of any headstones or graves for people, once you have the correct reference number for this.. I work midweek so during the winter could only get this at weekends so it wouldn't be in a hurry but would aim to have to you in a couple of weeks at least. I've already done this for 2 people and enjoyed it immensely. Please fell free to * PM me

Only genuine messages please and with the grave reference (normally 2 letters and 2 or 3 numbers eg xx 123...

Thanks

Most people would have been buried in Raheen graveyard, the Church is on the road between Geashill and Portarlington (R419 i think) and the OLD graveyard is across the road from the church itself.
