Thanks Ray 8), although I've never been keen with purchasing CD's online, yet this one's may be worth checking out if it's good as the old website was. --- Also found one more I'd stashed, however it is 582kb and too large to be attached here. " Chelsea RMA Apps by date of Indenture "

Thanks for all the info, how horrible that it seems to now all be gone  :'( without that website and it's treasure chest of lists I'd never have found the starting points for our Maltby ancestors. --- If it's of any help, here is a PDF file for the 3rd Regiment Foot Guard.  Plus an alphabetical one for the Chelsea Asylum, MAB-to-MaCLAREN.

Hi Ann,  Wow that was fast!!!
Your Gr-Grandfather (James) we only learnt this week was a twin, as prior to that my tree only contained 11 of the children.  I'll send this little post now and prepair a 2nd, Thank You for letting me know about the PM rules,  ;)  Your James in 1911 was a general labourer at the Iron Foundry, living with his mum & dad, they lived at #5 Mossvale-street. . . . My Pa Barr, his parents, paternal grandparents, and maternal gr-grandmother, Sarah Thompson lived at #10 Mossvale-street in 1911.  So we share a commen ancestor, and where they lived. They also both lived in Westmarch (a street in Paisley).

Great to hear about this Meeting House, as finding Irish records has always been a challenge to track down.  Happy to compair & combine, so very looking forward to see some new found info gold.
Back in a bit, Stew Barr

Fermanagh / Re: TORRANCES in Fermanagh

Bit late but hopefully this link is still going.  ::)
My (2x) Gr-Grandmother was Elizabeth 'Eliza' Thomson (formerly Thompson), Eliza married David Barr, widower in 1881.   Elizabeth Thomson was the elder sister of Margaret Thompson who married Hugh Torrens, son of Hugh Torrens, Farm Labourer & Jane Hunter.   The Torrens surname has various spellings, most so far on this one family line change to 'Torrance' after a few decades in Scotland.   Many of the Thompson's once leaving Ireland also dropped the 'P' to become Thomson.   Margaret Thompson is one of the rare few to keep the 'P' in Thom'p'son.

Hugh Torrens & wife Margaret Thompson had 12 living children born.   Hugh from 1881 to his death in 1922 worked as a Labourer in the Brickfields of Paisley, and later on became a Labourer in the Slaughterhouse.   Hugh died at his home 19 Springbank Road, Paisley on Nov 6th, 1922, aged 69 years.   Margaret his wife, daughter of William Thompson & Mary Jane Cochran/e died July 6th, 1936, age 79 years, at her home in Paisley.   When they died both went by the spelling 'Torrance.'
The 12 Children are as Follows :---
i.   William TORRENS  ------------ (b.22 Feb 1878 Cleen, Co.Fermanagh - d.13 Jul 1886 Paisley)
ii.  Hugh TORRENS --------------- (b.reg'd 1879 Lisnaskea, Co.Fermanagh - d.1975 Paisley)
iii.  Mary Jane TORRANCE -------- (b.14 Nov 1881 Paisley - d.1978 Paisley) *Often called 'Jane'
iv.  David TORRANCE ------------- (b.2 Jan 1884 Paisley - d.7 Jun 1935 Paisley)
v.   Margaret TORRANCE --------- (b.circa 1885 Paisley - d.1928 Paisley)
vi.  William TORRANCE  ----------- (b.circa 1888 Paisley - d.19 May 1935 L.M&S Railway, Paisley)
vii.  Robert TORRANCE  ----------- (b.circa 1889 Paisley - d.2 Jun 1891 Paisley)
viii. Andrew TORRANCE ----------- (b.11 May 1891 Paisley - d.1 Dec 1891)  : Elder of Twins.
ix.   James TORRANCE ------------ (b.11 May 1891 Paisley - d.1948 Paisley) : Younger of Twins.
x.    Andrew TORRANCE  ---------- (b.circa 1893 Paisley - )
xi.   Robert TORRANCE ------------ (b.circa 1895 Paisley - ) *Informant on mother & father's DC.
xii.  Eliza 'Lizzie' TORRANCE ------ (b.circa 1898 Paisley - )

The family lived at a number of addresses in Paisley.   They also lived close to other relatives (siblings of Margaret Thompson. Elizabeth, Hugh, William, Mary and Catherine.   Also her father William Thompson).   There are also dozen's of cousin's, these include the, Nixon's, Nevin's, and the Barr's.   Have tons of info, census's, BDM Cert's, ect., so there is A LOT MORE to this story!!! ;D
??? Also in the THOMPSON-BARR tree is, Margaret 'Maggie' Thompson, born 23 July 1874 Brookeboro, Co.Fermanagh, IRE., d/o Samuel Thompson and Sarah Thompson of Co.Fermanagh.   In 1901 at Paisley this 'Maggie' married a Andrew Torrens, he was born 20 May 1878 Aghendanagh, Tyrone, IRE., s/o Hugh Torrens and Margaret Montgomery.   By 1911 they had 4 children, Hugh, Samuel, Andrew, James, and William.  ---  Don't know if these Torrens/Torrance's & Thomson/Thompson's are related, both families, originate from the same counties in Ireland, and arrive in Scotland all about the same time ??

Hope to Hear Back,  Kind Regards,  Stew Barr.
(2x) Gr-Grand Nephew of Margaret Torrance, M.s. Thompson (c.1857-1936).
