Thanks,  Ian in Canada.

Sue,

Many thanks for the web sites.  I already know one of them, but will be going to the other two to see what can be found.

Your help is very much appreciated.  It's difficult doing such local research from Canada, but is made much easier by people such as yourself who are so helpful.

Cheers,  Ian White in Ottawa, Canada.

Northumberland / Postcards and Photos of Northumberland
« on: Monday 20 June 05 19:26 BST (UK)  »
Hello All,
Can anyone send me scans of old postcards or photos of places in Northumberland ?  I would especially appreciate any of Newcastle and area, or of football grounds.
If the postcards are over about 50 years old there should be no problems with copyright, and if there are photos taken by yourself or a family member then the copyright is yours so you can decide whether or not you wish to give me a copy !
I have broadband internet access and a large In-box.
Many thanks,  Ian White in Ottawa, Canada.

On my family tree in the Alston / Nenthead / Garrigill area I have an Ann NATRASS,( b. about 1712 in Garrigill, died before August 1756 in Howburn ) married William WHITE - marriage date unknown.  They had a son John WHITE (1737 to 1783).
Hope this is of some help to you.
Cheers,  Ian White in Ottawa, Canada.

Cumberland / Alston Area Lead Miners
« on: Saturday 18 June 05 16:55 BST (UK)  »
In the 1700s and 1800s there were many people in the Alston and Nenthead area whose living depended on lead mining.  Does anyone know where they originally came from ?
Any and all help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,  Ian
