Thank you for your swift reply, I wonder who the relative was that helped Pieter, it would be interesting to find out, I have looked on his site, and found it rather emotional even though i didnt know ronald, it must have been awful for my nana losing a child at aged 21!
Thank you

Jacquie

Do you think Pieter would be interested in my story, I may be able to forward him a photograph of Ronald?

Hi I think you are talking about my great uncle Ronald (who i know died young flying in the war).
My father (Clive) was brought up by Lily (he was her grandson and thought his name was Clive Barrie until his teens, upon when he was told that his own mother and father had died from tb when he was 3 and his surname was Tear.  My nana (as that was what we called her) also brought up another child called Susan Barrie, (who was lilys grand=daughter) Obviously I never knew Ronald Barrie, the pilot as i was born in 1958, if you have not found the place where he is buried, I will ask my father Clive when he returns from Italy in the next few days.

Thank you
Jacquie
