Ancestral Family Tree DNA Testing / Re: DNA TESTING
« on: Monday 09 April 12 09:35 BST (UK)  »
I have a one-name study on the name Brewerton. I also have recently started a DNA project with FTDNA. Men only testing at Y-37.
The 10th chap is just about to test. I have already connected 3 trees and caused some upset by making 2 people realise that do not actually belong to the Brewerton name. A 'parental mishap' having happened in the 1800's.
However, if you just want to test your own family you may be disappointed. My husband has no matches and my father only matches at 4 steps to a couple of different surnames.

Warwickshire Completed Lookup Requests / Re: Elijah Brueton *COMPLETED*
« on: Sunday 01 April 12 20:35 BST (UK)  »
Hi, I run the one-name study on the name Brewerton variant Bruerton. Sally has just made contact with me. I am having problems tying Elijah 1853 to Elijah 1818. He is not on the 1861 census. Any thoughts
Many thanks
Jeanie.

Flintshire / BREWERTON in Hawarden
« on: Wednesday 24 March 04 21:26 GMT (UK)  »
Hello everyone, this is my first message here but when I typed in Brewerton it gave me the choice of Hawarden so I guess this is linked to rootsweb where I have posted messages. I have traced back my ggg grandfather William Brewerton married to Mary Piercy. I do not have dates for them but my guess is that he moved to Hawarden, Wales and married Mary there. The dates for the first child I can find is 1785. Do you have any suggestions how I can get more info.on William if he did come from somewhere else. He seems to be the source of all the Brewertons in the area. Many thanks. :)
