Hi Gadget and Antony1977,

I've requested for my post with photos to be removed. Apologies for adding them having possibly used an AI editor.

Kind regards,
Andrea

Hi Gadget,

I didn't think so but I may well have. Thanks for bringing that to my attention as I didn't really think about that at the time! Happy to remove if needs be!

Regards,
Andrea

Hi Antony1977,

Hope this helps! I may have added a few scars in the process but definitely clearer photos. I'll have to get back to you on which online editor I used as I went through a few to find a free one and then had to manually remove some lines. If someone can resize these for me I would be grateful! I thought I had made them to the correct pixels but maybe not!

Kind regards,
Andrea

UPDATE: I don't think it's the same person. Just looked at the marriage record and it's for 1935!

Hi Stuart,

There is a death for a Ruth Irvine McDonald on the Ryerson index. Date of death 7th September 1991, aged 85, with the notice published in The Age on the 8th, 9th and 10th May. That makes her date of birth a couple of years out but just wondered if worth looking at with the same surname as you!   I can't access the death notices but can see part of it. I'll PM you the link as other names mentioned may still be alive.

Kind regards,
Andrea

Hi Jim,

Sorry to hear there hasn't been any progress with the headstone. May need to give them a follow up if you haven't already! I hope someone will be able to have a look for you to check whether it's there or not. All the best!

Kind regards,
Andrea

Australia / Re: South Australia Death - Lawrence MERROTSY
« on: Friday 14 July 23 03:09 BST (UK)  »
Hi Grant,

It's been some time since I looked at this family so I just had a quick peek to re familiarise myself!

I found that I had saved this article stating that Laurence was originally from Italy.

https://www.coasit.com.au/images/ihs/journals/IHSJ_vol07_no1_1999.pdf - page 23.

However, the Adelaide hospital admission records that records his death, states that his country of birth was Malta!

Do you have a connection to the family?

Regards,
Andrea

Hi Garry,

I hope this is your Bertha! As she was cremated, it doesn't look like there is a grave site for her.

I noticed on Jean/Jeanie's nursing application that she did her training at the Deaconess Hospital in Edinburgh. I thought I'd have a look and found this website.

Also this: https://www.rcpe.ac.uk/sites/default/files/jrcpe_48_1_mcneill.pdf

Their records may nor may not offer any new information but just thought it was worth mentioning in case you wanted to investigate further!

Regards,
Andrea
