The Common Room / Re: Motley and Anderson's of Lincolnshire, England
« on: Wednesday 22 March 17 08:20 GMT (UK)  »
I have looked at Lincstothepast records.  The one register that is listed as having any information about an individual with the last name Anderson, is unreadable.  The print is so light that you cannot make out any of the words.  And Lincs is written across the records to make them unreadable.
I do know that the Anderson's of Lincolnshire came from Scotland.  Was trying to find Jane's fathers name in the hope of connecting the Lincolnshire Anderson's back to Scotland.
I do appreciate your time and thank you for your help.  Please keep me in mind if anything should come your way.

Lincolnshire Lookup Requests / Re: Addison Family
« on: Sunday 06 January 13 11:38 GMT (UK)  »
I am very grateful for all the help you have provided.  Thank you.

William Motley (b. about 1802, Donington, Lincolnshire)  married  Rebecca Wales Addison (b. 1 March 1813 Corby, Lincolnshire) on 21 May 1833, Donington, Lincolnshire.
(This Rebecca is my great-great grandmother.)
Rebecca's parents are John Addison (b. 18 March 1771, Old Sleaford, Lincolnshire) and Rebekah Wales (b. 3 February 1771, Corby, Lincolnshire).  They were married 6 May 1794, Lincolnshire, England.
As far as I am aware, they had three children.  Christopher (b. 18 November 1791 Friskney, Lincolnshire); John (b. 1801) and my great-great grandmother, Rebecca (b. 1 March 1813, Corby, Lincolnshire).
I apologize that is mixed up Christopher's birth place of Friskney with their place of marriage, Freiston.
This information has been given to me through the family line/bible.  It was also given to me last spring by Chris, one of the moderators for this web site.  So, I am as sure as anyone can be that this information is correct.
I have John Addison's parents listed as Michael and Mary (Tufnall) Addison.
I have Michael Addison's parents listed as John and Eleanor Addison.  This is where the dates must be wrong.  John's date of birth is listed as 1718, but if it is actually 1708, then it all fits.
I was hoping that someone with access to the records would be able to verify the birth date, or anything that would help.
I have no idea of how to find which "Parish" their records are kept.  If there is some way of finding this information, I would be most grateful and would be able to locate the information that I am missing rather then bother other people.
Thank you very much for all you help and, mostly, for your time of looking this up.
Bless you.

Lincolnshire Lookup Requests / Re: Addison Family

What I have that I am certain of is:
John Addison (b. 18 March 1771, Old Sleaford, Lincolnshire) married Rebekah(Rebecca) Wales
6 May 1794 Butterwick, Holland, Lincolnshire .  John Addison is the son of Michael and Mary Addison.  Rebekah Wales is the daughter of William Wales and Elizabeth Ellis.
Michael Addison (not sure of exact birth but have 1737) married Mary Tufnall 16 February 1770, Old Sleaford, Lincolnshire.
Michael Addison is the son of John Addison and Eleanor (Ellinor).
I do not know how to find which parish they were connected.  John Addison (1771) was a sailor and died in Barbados.  His daughter, Rebecca Wales, is my great-great grandmother.

Any help would be wonderful.  Thank you for your response.

Lincolnshire Lookup Requests / Addison Family
« on: Friday 04 January 13 21:24 GMT (UK)  »
I would like to verify some information that I have off of the web site Family Search.  Something is wrong and I am hoping that someone is able to help me.
Rebecca Wales born 1 March 1813 Lincolnshire, England to Rebecca Wales and John Addison.
John Addison born 18 March 1771 Lincolnshire, England to Michael Addison and Mary Tufnall.
Michael Addison born 29 September 1737 Lincolnshire, England to John Addison and Eleanor(a).
John Addison born 9 May 1718 Lincolnshire, England to William Addison and Anne.

The problem is that John and Eleanor(a) Addison began having children in 1726, which would make John 8 years of age and Eleanor(a) 4 years of age.

Please help.

Mayo / Re: Brennan's of Mayo Co
« on: Wednesday 23 May 12 23:21 BST (UK)  »
Michael Brennan and Mary Clarke had James (b. July 1876), Michael (b. 16 Oct 1869), John (b.1873) and Thomas (b. 1877).  They immigrated to the USA in 1893.  James Brennan is my great-grandfather.  I cannot find any records that list the parish/town.  Everything that I have found only lists Mayo Co, Ireland.  But not where in Mayo Co and I don't know which Martin Brennan in Mayo Co is the correct father of Michael, who is the father of James, Michael, John and Thomas.  I really appreciate your help.

I don't have a town/village/parish.  All the records state is Mayo Co, Ireland.  They were all Catholic, very Catholic.  Michael Brennan (b. 1833) married Mary Clarke (b.1845) on 19 July 1867 in Ballina, Mayo, Ireland.  Mary Clarke's father is listed as Pat Clarke.  Michael Brennan's father is listed as Martin Brennan.  No parishes, no mother names.  I think that they might have been born in Swineford, but I am not sure.  Trying to find the correct Martin Brennan, Michael's father and mother, and parish/village/town.  Thank you for helping me.  I really appreciate it very much.

Meath / Re: Finegan and Ledwick's of Meath Co
« on: Wednesday 23 May 12 20:59 BST (UK)  »
I went to the church records and that is how I found out that Margaret's maiden name was Finegan.  I only have her mothers name and that is Margaret Finegan.  I don't know how to find their parents names or the parish/village they came from.  No records in Erie, PA that have that information recorded on them.  Just that they came from Meath Co, Ireland.   Thank you for taking the time to talk with me.  I do appreciate it very much.  I am sorry that you can't help me more.  I was hoping for any possible village that the names, Ledwick and Finegan, might be common.  Do you know if maybe they were from Old Castle?  Any Ledwick's or Finegans from the early 1800's live there then?
