I am Val Watson (nee Laurie  born Gympie Qld second youngest of nine children of Herbert James Laurie and Annie Laurie nee McIlwraith I am 83 yrs old and have only one brother 93 yrs and one sister 80 yrs left . My fathers parents were William and Mary Laurie and he was born in Majors Creek nsw, 13 Jnn 1886.I do not know much about my fathers family ,Iknow he had a brother Billand a sister Chrissie and possibly another sister called Ada. Ithought he had twin sisters but am not sure if these are the two.Some of the Laurie family lived in Alphe central qld and some lived in Kandanga. near Gympie , we lived in Gympie until 1937 then in Emerald until 1943 then in Gladstone until 1953 I married a kiwi and moved to NZ in 1951 and have been here for 61 yrs I lost my husband in 2009  Iwould like to know more about my family history .
