Hiya

I wondered if someone could point me the direction of finding some information with regards to the brunswick hotel.

I am searching information on julia sharpe who died in 1961 aged 20 RTA in Wakefield, S Yorkshire

At the inquest the last know address for her family was the Brunwick Hotel 161 Katherine street, Ashron Under Lyne ( I read it closed down a few years later)
Her father William Henry Sharpe was the landlord, could anyone tell me where i can find out the day of closure and if the sharpes still had the licence on the pub when it did.

Thanks in advance

I think that might be my next move, I've tracked down siblings of Julia's in Ashton Under Lyne, and i think i might put a note in the paper :)

Hi Carol
Yes that's right He was known as mike (middle name) but his real name is Vincent Micheal Horrocks

I guess I will have to go to the town hall and apply for a copy of his birth certificate, I know My great Grans Maiden name was Haslam.

Thanks again for the info

Hi Carol
Thankyou so much Engin Horrocks (First name is Engin - Turkish) Is my grandmother, Its Micheal I am trying to find out about, All that generation are dead and he died so young, I am having to restore his grave stone and I have no idea of his birthday etc, (its not on the damaged one) Because of the nature of his death, my great grand parents refused to talk about it - and nothings been passed over, I really must get it right on the stone, any idea how I can find his birthday date out? Thanks for the information so far - its so helpful.

Roxanne
