I had a lovely email this morning from Caryl Jones at Ystradgynlais Family History Society. She has confirmed that my mother is in an unmarked grave but has been able to give me the exact plot number. J27. I can finally visit her now so thank you for your help. I couldn't have done it without you. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!  :) xxx

Well I've contacted the Ystradgynlais Family History Society, Powys Council, and a voluntary group I found a link for in Ystradgynlais, so hopefully there'll be news from one of them soon.  I'll let you know when I hear anything  :)

My sister said it might come under Gurnos so it must be the same one. I've just filled up seeing that photo and knowing my mother is there somewhere. Thank you Greensleeves. This might sound daft but just that photo has made me feel closer to her. I'm getting sentimental in my old age!

Hi Greensleeves, thank you. Yes that is the one. We lived in Wind Road in Ystradgynlais until she passed away. I remember you used to have to pass a surgery to get to the cemetery, but as far as I can remember there is no church there so I have had no idea who to ask. Thank you for your help  :)

Hi, I'm new here so sorry if I'm putting this in the wrong place. My mum died in 1987 when I was 12 and was buried in Gorof Public Cemetery, and I was promptly relocated to Birmingham to live with my father. Family friends used to go to the cemetery to put flowers on the grave but no one could find it as she had no headstone. I would love to visit her grave and get a memorial of some sort put there, so can anyone give me any advice on how I find her?
She died on January 31st 1987 aged 40, and was buried on February 4th. Her name was Beryl Joanne Parkhouse.
I really have no idea where to go or where to start so any help will be very gratefully received.
Many thanks  :)
