I reckon Alex and his daughter Catherine are buried at Robe cemetery.
Gravesecrets website list them there.
Cheers,
Alan

Penny,
I am looking for info on Jane Martyn(bcirca 1830?) who is also supposed to be a descendent or related to Humanity Dick.
Jane ran off with a Dr Robert McKelwee and had Emily Kate and Mary Josephine, both of whom came to Australia.
Jane Martyn would be my 3rd great Grandmother.
The following story has been handed down.
Quote
Great Grandmother McKelwee was disowned by her family for climbing down the ivy outside the window at the house of her parents "Lowe Park Court", to run away with the handsome young doctor who came to diagnose a house full of sick children stricken with measles!  She never again spoke to her parents even tho' they drove past her house frequently when they came to town.  Can't you just visualise the superior noses in the air as they drove in their carriage past their daughter's house?? When Great, great Grandmother Martin was dying, Great Grandmother McKelwee buried her pride to visit "Lowe Park Court" to say farewell to her mother, the butler was instructed to say that "Miss Jane was no longer welcome in the house".  Grandmother Wilson said her mother wept bitterly for days.

Grandma had a wonderful way of telling a story (haven't all the Irish?) and she spoke quite often of Great Uncle Richard (Martin).

Cheers,
Alan.

Kevin,
Thanks.
Have a look at my ancestry.com tree"MacDonald". I have a few photos of Isabella.
Have you been in contact with Elizabeth Kraus, (great?) grandaughter of Catherine MacInnes?
She has done a lot of work on MacInnes/MacDonald.
Our Macdonalds are descended from the clan chiefs through James of Castle Camus.

Below is a link to the marriage record of Rachel and Alexander. at the bottom of the page.

Hi,
I am the great grandson of Isabella MacInnes. She was the daughter of Alexander and Rachel MacInnes.

Isabella married Ronald MacDonald, who along with his father(ArchibaldD1854) and siblings, came out on the Hercules in 1854 to Adelaide.

I have seen a marriage entry for Rachel and Alexander listing her as being from "Harripool" or "Harrapool".

Cheers,
Alan MacDonald.

Ellen,
Thanks.
I also have a query in to Bill Lawson. I plan to take a DNA test as well.

Alan.

I am looking for info on Archibald Macdonald born c 1796 from Croft 14 Tigharry.
He may have had the gaelic name mac Raoghaill

I would really like to find more info about the generations before him, and the wives names.

His father was Ranald or Ronald
He migrated to Australia and died there in 1854.

Arch had the following children (birth dates approximate in some cases.)
They made the trip to Australia as well in a couple of shifts.
•   Ann MacDonald 1824 – 1889
•   Peggy Margaret MacDonald 1826 –
•   Flora MacDonald 1828 – 1912
•   Catherine MacDonald 1830 –
•   Mary MacDonald 1833 – 1873
•   Donald MacDonald 1837 – 1916
•   Ronald MacDonald 1842 – 1906
•   Kirsty Christina MacDonald 1843 –

Info in the 1841 census seems to tally with this.

My grandad(born1891), father(born1935) and myself(born1962) all have Finalyson as a middle name, but I cannot find a reason why this would be except,  I assume that it must come from a female line somewhere.
Arch’s son Ronald (my great grandfather) married an Isabella McInnes in South Australia.

Cheers,
Alan.
