My mum and dad lived in the flat above Burtons when they first got married in 1961, my grandparents and my dad and uncle lived down Princes Road, my dad is in his seventies now, grandad used to take me to Burtons every Wednesday after school for cakes, Rum truffle and a cream slice! I live in Fletton myself now

Thank you, I only started the page yesterday afternoon I remember the brickyards myself and meeting my grandad from the one behind where the library used to be, and being told that the swearing was a special code that they all spoke in!
Like I said dad knows so much, he can tell me who lived in nearly every house down Fletton Avenue from Princes Road to town, and it just seem a pity to share what he does know..

I have just started a facebook page for all thing to do with Fletton, my dad and uncle grew up in Princes Road, my nan worked at Farrrows and grandad worked at the brickyards, I live in Fletton myself, and after a chat with my dad about Farrows and a search on the internet found there was nothing for Fletton anywhere that really said much about it, my dad has so many recollections of Fletton in the forties and fifties, and I thought it would be a good place to share the postcards and other links etc to Fletton

I am new on here, but not new to family history etc, after a chat with my dad yesterday I decided to make a facebook page on Fletton, so I could share the postcards that I have and all the stuff my dad remembers, my grandad worked on the brickyards from when he got married in 1934 until he retired in around 1977, he did have a break during the war, but was in two minds to go to Perkins Engines but decided to go back to the brickyards
