Thank you again.I have the 1881 census details for Tyndals Wynd, who are my direct ancestors. I have been using Scotlands People, so will now try Free Cen where I can. Not sure how I missed Free Cen as I have been using Free BDM but for English/Welsh ancestry. I will have to see where the other McLeans take me.

Yes they moved to Dundee and I have been working backwards, hoping to find some record. By the way I have a copy of the 1851 census and I read the address as 16 Well Street.

I am looking for information regarding the McLean family which I have traced back to the Parish records for Cupar where James McLean married Christina Bell in 1839.

I am therefore interested particularly in the following

42 Catherine Bell
46 Catherine Bell
118 Christina Bell
123 Jane Bell
