Hi CaroleW,

Thank you for being so helpful to a newcomer.
It was very kind of you.

I think it will take me a day or 2 to get used to using the forum.

I will look through all the other information I have to cross reference to see if I am indeed on the right track.

Hi Mishcat,

Sorry, unfortunately I miss read and therefore misspelled your username.

I have today posted a question regarding the Nixon family from Hanley, so including this posting it may now be OK to PM me.

I apologise in advance if I have misunderstood the PM rules as explained to me by CaroleW, the invigilator

Staffordshire / Nixon, Herbert (1843) & Eliza, in Hanley, Staffs

Hi,
I hope I am placing my request for information in the correct place.

I am looking to find any information about Herbert Nixon (abt 1843), Potters Oven Man.

I have done quite a bit of research but I am hoping someone can verify for me that this herbert nixon's parents were William Nixon and Hannah (nee Lester) before I send off for a birth certificate. My problem is I have found another herbert nixon born the same year also in the Hanley area.

The herbert I am interested in was married to Eliza (nee Sutton), her parents were thomas & mary sutton and I have evidence of this as Herbert & Eliza were living with Eliza's parents at one point (1861 census).
Herbert had several children who mainly worked in the pottery industry in Hanley.
Herbert jnr, Teresa, Eliza, Mary and Catherine Hannah (Kate).

Any information about Herbert or his wife Eliza Sutton's heritage would be most welcome.

Thank you for your time.

Regards, Almondblossom.

I prefer not to publish any information on an open forum so perhaps you would like to PM me?
