Gloucestershire Lookup Requests / Re: Phillipps Family Broadway
« on: Saturday 22 September 18 08:57 BST (UK)  »
thank you so much! I had heard that the extra 'P' in Phillipps was a grant from a king at some stage, but verifying everything is a bit of a challenge! George Phillipps was my great grandfather - his son George Richard was my grandfather.

Hi, This George Augustus Phillips/Phillipps is definitely not related to our George Phillipps. Cheers.

Hi,
I haven't been on for awhile (too busy/ flu and other asstd things happening.)
Pippin - I believe we may have a connection. I am a descendant of Emma Claridge and Christopher Harrison and have been struggling to find info on them. I have their marriage date and in separate places in 1841 & 1851 censuses, plus the births and deaths of numerous children.
The stumbling block has been the info that Emma supplied on the immigration record as she lists her father as Thomas (Northants) and mother as Louisa residing in London. I haven't had access to the Norhants  records but someone did a look-up for me and said she was probably 'base born' (the first time I had ever heard that expression!!)
I would be happy for you to contact me privately (I haven't figured out how to do that!)
I have Christopher's lineage back another couple of generations but got nowhere with the Emma line.
I'd love to have photos of both E & C as I have photos of other GG-g'parents.

Cheers ;D

There was a reply earlier that the house in Glenferrie/ Hawthorn was up for sale in abt 1894....so very likely that Ruth had moved.
Can anyone tell me if there is any sort of cemetries register. Ruth's father (Christopher Harrison was buried in Melbourne General Cemetery in 1864. He was hung, so I'm curious as to whether he's in a 'general' section with a grave that's been totally ignored or a denominational section and if he has a headstone - could someone point me in the right direction please. (I really am a novice!!  - and part time research makes it a bit disjointed!!

Northamptonshire / Re: Rose HARRISON lookup please

Yes. She was born in Northants. but Mum seemed to be in different places to Dad on Census nights. I have found them all for 1841 and 1851 but then Rose just seems to disappear. I haven't found a death or a marriage for her. She had a few siblings who died and I've tracked those - she's the mystery! ::)

Thanks - I can't believe how helpful everyone is - it's wonderful  ;D

Cando - does this mean that the death that I have now for Edward James Palmer (1889) was actually Alfred Palmer....or the one on TROVE should be Edward James?....and that EJP committed suicide?
Looks like the tragedies that have beset this family historically have continued.

Thank you all for your incredible help!

Northamptonshire / Rose HARRISON lookup please
« on: Wednesday 08 August 12 23:49 BST (UK)  »
I'm looking for any details on Rose Harrison (Possibly 'Rose Martha') born Abt 1833
She was baptised in 1837 and was in the 1851 census aged 18
Her parents were Christopher and Emma.

I can't find her after the 1851 census. She did not come to Australia with her parents and siblings in 1853. So any help would be appreciated!!

Thanks Gerry.
I'm now trying to track marriages for Edward James (1868) and Charles Henry (1872)
I've found death notices for Emma, Rose, and now Ernest. So still lots of research ahead!
