Occupation Interests / Re: Watermen and lighter-men Apprenticeships Bindings Look up Please?
« on: Wednesday 01 February 12 19:25 GMT (UK) »Hi I'm wondering if anyone can help me. I'm trying to find out info on my mother in law's real father. All she know is his name was John Batty and he was an apprentice to his father as a waterman on the London docks. He was born in 1912, so therefore as they were not allowed to do this until they were 14 it would have been some time after 1921. She thinks he was from Yorkshire and lived in Twickenham. I've been trying to find out for her but just not having any luck. Thank you
