Thank You for that, in Ireland we too have some of the villages with the same names, of which our  family lived in, not the same connection , good luck in your research.

It looks like from both my mothers & fathers side you too have got the same surnames, maybe not so odd, . since their villages  are onlly 1 mile apart ,. I understand you may have been in contact with a lady who is doing a  dna  web. on my fathers side , she may have already sent you some details about us, she contacted me appx. 1 month ago, re c.shannon, does this ring a bell with you????

My grandmother was an O' Connor,( Conor) Mantua was 1.50 miles away from where she married, some of her family emigrated to the USA. may be a connection.

My Dad was a great historian, sadly he died in 1999, He certainly would know a lot more than me, however I seem to remember that the Hart's are connected to us, my sister or brother may know more, I will speak to them in the next few days and let you know. Think they now live in a pIace called Tulsk.
As a child we went to the National school in Ballinameen and walked the 3 miles , from the age of 6 to 14, so I know the area pretty well. In fact there is only 1 other family of Moran's in that region, I doubt if they are connected, otherwise Dad would have told us, as we all attended the same school.
I also have , somewhere , got photo's of the Moran sisters from Ballinameen,( my 2nd cousins )in time I will send you them.
Have you had a dna done, my older brother has had his done before Xmas, and it confirms we have relatives in Australia, It is a very useful tool, maybe not so much now, but in the future.
I will be in touch once I enquire on the Harts.
Bye for now.

Re info. from Tu2Tu, dated 31/3/11, in fact it is Ballinameen, this Moran family have families living in England & Ireland, they are my 2nd cousins, although that generation of today are in their 80's, my Dad's Aunt  married into the Moran Family, her son was Dad's 1st cousin, although there must have been appx. 25/30 yrs between them . I was in Ireland last week , passed the old house in Ballinameen, and it is still occupied. Kilbride of course is within 5/6 miles from Ballinameen, Boyle.
Might be of some use to you.

I rooted up some pictures of my family of O'Beirne 's whilst I was there last week, I discovered a number of other O'BEIRNE families within the Boyle region are related to my family. So indeed it is all very interesting.
When you have a moment , if you care to mail me your email, I will scan in 4 pictures and send them onto you.
Bye for now.

Well 'cause of the large families in those days, most were related, some changed their surname to Byrne.
In the regions of BALLINAMEEN, CROGHAN, a lot of the deceased were buried in Croghan during that era , it is appx. 2.5 mls apart.
Boyle is appx. 8.0 miles from Ballinameen, so from this information, you may understand where relationships developed, or close family ties.
Does your family tree show a Farrell and a Maggie as his siblings ?.Of course there could be many more, that region had a lot of families emigrate to the USA, including my own.
My brother has done his dna , may not be of great value just yet, but will certainly be of use in the not too distant future.
Do you have any pictures of the older generation, the O'Beirnes mostly had high cheek bones, and still do today.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Just read your enquiry, with interest.
My Grandmother was an O'Beirne, her brother was Michael, ( another Farrell ) Michael went to Dublin, I do not know the year, married & had 6 girls, all of which are alive . They came from the area mentioned, think this may be of some help to you. UNA
